Tax Set-Aside Pack — Notion or Excel, income + % aside
By Nydaymuse · Updated
What belongs in a tax set-aside pack?
Income logged when it hits, a % moved to a set-aside destination, and a quarterly checklist. Organizer only — not filing software.
Freelance income without a set-aside habit turns into a surprise bill. You need a calm organizer — not QuickBooks and not tax advice.
Ledgerette is Nydaymuse’s $12 dual-format tax set-aside pack: Income, Set_Aside, and Quarterly_Checklist as Notion CSVs and as an Excel / Sheets workbook (README, Dashboard, Income, Expenses_Lite, Tax_Set_Aside, Quarterly). Pick one.
Why set-aside needs a habit
A set-aside log puts income, a chosen percentage, and transfer status in one review. Ledgerette keeps the job fixed (log → % aside → quarterly checklist) and lets the buyer choose Notion or a workbook.
Ledgerette is not full accounting. Pair it with Ops for aging depth and Margin for project profit.
Pick your own percent
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| set_aside_pct | Your number — SAMPLE 25–30% is fiction only |
| set_aside_usd | Income × percent (Excel formula) |
| destination | Where the money moves (savings label) |
| status | Pending → Moved (weekly habit) |
Not tax, legal, or accounting advice. Choose a percent with a professional who knows your situation.
Quarterly checklist
- Sum income for the quarter.
- Confirm set-aside rows Moved (clear Pending).
- Export bank CSV for your accountant if you use one.
- Review Expenses_Lite for potentially deductible items.
- Note estimated payment dates on your calendar — checklist only.
